How do fees work?

Joining and starting a shop on The Student Bookshop is free. Once an item sells, we take 20% of the value of your sale, around 10% being the PayPal/transaction fee and the remaining cost being the fee of our website.
 
 

What do I need to do to create a shop?

 
First you must create an account (if you don’t already have one), set your shop location and currency, choose a shop name, create a listing, set a payment method (how you want to be paid), and finally set shipping fees.
 
 

Do I need a credit or debit card to create a shop?

 
No, a credit or debit card is not required to create a shop. To be verified as a seller you have the choice to use either a credit card or to register via PayPal. You will not incur any charges until you open your shop and publish your listings.

How do I set shipping rates?

Sellers can also set there own shipping rates. In order to do this click on ‘My Shop’ and then on ‘Shipping’. Here you can choose the zones you will ship to and at what cost. Follow this link to add your shipping and click on the pencil button to edit shipping rates.

 

How do I get paid?

Once you have made a sale, your funds minus the fees will be in your account under ‘My Earnings’. If you wish to withdraw these funds, simply submit a withdraw request which will be processed within the next working day.
